Dom's wonderfully individual, quirkily witty writing style has earned him much praise for TV series like Doc Martin and Robin Hood. Now that Series 2 has finished, and Marion is no more, why not treat yourselves to a set of DVDs of the first series to remind yourself how Robin and Marion met and relive that fated romance? A delicious tub of Minghella Ice Cream while you settle down to watch will make the evening all the more special. We did think of renaming our Fruits of the Forest ice cream Fruits of Sherwood Forest as a little family tribute, but since that harrowing last episode we're too upset to do anything other than eat it. (Did you know that you can buy the Sherrif's castle with all the Robin Hood figures for your children, so they can imagine their own happier endings? Available nationally from Argos, it seems. They don't offer national distribution for our ice cream and sorbet, unfortunately...)

We are proud to supply Giacobazzi, one of the most prestigious delicatessens in the country. Raffaele and Renata Giacobazzi are from the Emilia Romagna region of Italy and have staff from all over Italy e.g.Sardinia, Naples, Modena and Bassano. As well as stocking Minghella Ice Cream, they specialise in Italian food and wine, from the north (Alto Adige) to the south (Sicily) to the west (Sardinia). We can tell you, from personal experience, that their pasta dishes are wonderful!

West Wight Arts Association
No, it's not a quirky name for an ice cream distribution company! West Wight Arts Association is, in fact, something of a little-known gem, so special that we hesitate to tell you about it. It's our favourite regional music group, organising a series of chamber music and other concerts of talented musicians starting in September each year and bringing us music so wonderful you have to pinch yourself to make sure you aren't dreaming. Being there is like being in the Wigmore Hall, only better: closer, more intimate, somehow more real. If you live on - or indeed, near - the beautiful Isle of Wight or are planning a visit, the concerts are held at Freshwater Memorial Hall on selected Saturday evenings, starting at 7.30pm. Minghella Ice Cream are very proud to sponsor a concert annually.

Isle of Wight Young Chamber
Headed up by Carrie Almond, dynamic,enthusiastic and charming, our local Young Chamber bridges the gap between young people and local employers. Their many interesting projects recently included the Minghella Ice Cream Challenge, when Gloria Minghella had the pleasure of spending her day working alongside 30 students drawn from across the Isle of Wight on a project to develop a new ice cream. She said it was one of the best days she has spent in a long time and the students loved it, too. Now the Young Chamber is very busy on their latest venture: the Minghella Movie Marathon to be held as a tribute to Anthony on 13-15 March 2009. Watch this space!
